HYA Travel Baseball F.A.Q’s 

What is Travel Baseball for HYA?

HYA plays in the Lancaster County Youth Baseball League (LCYBL) against other Lancaster county school districts and teams. Teams do not travel for tournament weekends or long distances for league games. There are several local tournaments that teams may participate in during the Spring season. 

What are the ages for the teams? 

There are 3 age groups with different levels within those age groups. We go by the LCYBL Age Charts for that year. 

·     10U (Ages 7-10) 

·     12U (Ages 11-12)

·     14U (Ages 13-14) 

Are there tryouts? 

Yes for Spring baseball, no for Fall baseball. Tryouts will take place in January for Spring Ball. These tryouts are intended to make sure that we place players within the right level within their age groups. 

What if my son/daughter is playing with the in-house rec program? 

We highly encourage you to sign up and tryout for the Travel program. Especially if your son or daughter has a great interest in baseball or would like to play as they get older. The intramural program only goes up to the age of 10. If your son/daughter does not make a 10U team, they will automatically be placed on a Majors team and the difference in registration will be refunded back to you.
