Spring 2026 - Softball

**PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW**

📅 Key Dates:

Online registration opens on 12/01/2025 and will close on 1/11/2026. THERE WILL BE NO LATE REGISTRATION'S BEYOND JANUARY 11TH

If an age group has a Wait List prior to 1/11 please still register and you will be contacted via email.

There will be a Capacity per age group based off of the current availability of Volunteer Coaches. If capacity is reached, PLEASE still sign up for Waitlist.

**Wait list is on a first come first serve basis. Your spot is not guaranteed. If you are accepted from the wait list, you will be notified via email.

The goal for Waitlist is to allow for the designation of additional players based on Coaching/Team numbers.

Evaluations:

Are MANDATORY for 10U - 14U
Location- Saturday, February 14th at Spooky Nook Manheim from 5pm to 9pm

**We ask that all spectators watch from the upper-level upstairs**

ALL players EXCEPT 8U are required to attend this 1-day evaluation. Any player that does not attend will be placed accordingly and not guaranteed to be with their desired level, coach or team.

Outside Evaluators will be used NOT coaches.

At the conclusion of Evaluations Teams will be separated into Major and Minor teams. Number of players per team will be determined by the participation numbers. We always do our best to Balance the Minor teams with splitting up of Pitchers/Catchers and all remaining players that did not make the Major Division.

Practice:

Team practices will begin no later than mid-March, with the possibility of an earlier start.

Practices are scheduled during the week and OPTIONAL practices on weekends, with days and locations provided once teams are determined.

8U Monday and Wednesday

10U Tuesday and Thursday

12U Monday and Wednesday

14U Tuesday, Thursday practices BUT MAY have games that may be scheduled on Fridays

📝 Registration Details:

ALL players must register for their appropriate age group.

Player requests to move up a division are welcome during registration BUT NOT GUARANTEED, and we'll do our best to honor them after Player Evaluations

Jersey numbers will be based on Seniority within that players age group, Please provide 3 numbers that best suit your player. PROVIDED NUMBERS ARE NOT GUARANTEED AND AFTER PLACEMENT OF NUMBERS NO CHANGES WILL BE ALOUD.

💡 Volunteer Opportunities:

The organization continues to struggle finding volunteers on every single level.

Volunteer Opt out fee $80. Volunteer time will be Mandatory if you sign up and tracking of volunteering roles will be managed.

HYA IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, THE COMMISSIONER, ALL BOARD MEMBERS AND COACHES VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO THE ORGANIZATION.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED IN MAKING SURE THE ORGANIZATION IS WELL SUPPORTED WITH VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME WHEN NEEDED.

Our organization is always in need of new or returning volunteers so please do not hesitate to Volunteer.

If you're interested in volunteering, register under the volunteer section and select an option.

Background clearances are required for ALL Coaches

Consider volunteering for a Board Member/Committee position.

🤝 Financial Assistance:

We believe every child should have the chance to play softball. Reach out to Jeff Kish at [email protected] for potential registration assistance.

Fees and Age Groups:

Registration fees vary by age group: 8U ($125), 10U, 12U, 14U ($195 each).

8U registrants that would like their child to evaluate at 10U, if she makes the 10U division the additional fee will be posted to your account once teams are finalized.

Registration includes a Jersey, 2 pairs of socks, Practice Jersey and a Heat Transfer Long Sleeve Jacket, optional Belt.

Additional practice jerseys are available for $15.

Optional Red Belt at NO COST

Pants ARE NOT part of uniform package due to sizing issues. (Black Softball Pants are Required at all age groups)

📆 Spring Season and Playoff Schedule (2026):

**These dates represent the Lanco League game schedule for the season. Team practices will begin no later than mid-March, with the possibility of an earlier start.

Dates below are not finalized but expect to be close to these dates.

8U: 4/15- 6/4 (with a potential in-season tournament)

10U: 4/16 - 6/4, Playoffs: 6/5 - 6/12

12U: 4/15 - 6/4, Playoffs: 6/5 - 6/12

14U: 4/28 - 6/11, Playoffs: 6/12 - 6/18

Any Birthday's that are in the 6U Range will need to sign up for the Pony Baseball Tee ball program until that player is age appropriate.

2026 Softball Winter Training

HYA Softball Winter Training is available for any Age Divisions 8U-14U.

Cost:

$60 per player 8U for ALL Sessions

$65 per player 10/12/14U for ALL sessions

Dates:

8U dates and times: Sunday January 18th and 25th, February 1st/15th/22nd, March 1st/8th

6pm to 7:30pm

Location: Spooky Nook Sports Manheim Turf 2 Field

10/12/14U dates and times: Monday January 5th/12th/26th, February 2nd/9th/23rd, March 2nd and 9th

7pm to 9pm

Location: Spooky Nook Sports Manheim Turf 5 Field House.

Instructors: HYA Softball coaches within their players age group.

Workouts will include batting, fielding, baserunning, and other skill development activities.

Eligibility: HYA Softball participants within the Hempfield School District.

Equipment Needed: Glove, Bat, Helmet, Shoes (no cleats)
