Spring Intramural Baseball - 2026

Registration: November 28, 2025 through February 22, 2026 for all intramural ages and levels. The HYA Intramural baseball program is for kids in the Hempfield School District (Lancaster, PA)

Ponies: Ages 4-6 (Tee-Ball/Coach Pitch): Birthdates from 5/1/2019 through 4/30/2022 (Recommended for first year players)

Minors: Ages 6-8 (Coach Pitch): Birthdates from 5/1/2017 through 4/30/2020

Majors: Ages 7-10 (Kid Pitch): Birthdates from 5/1/2015 through 4/30/2019

Pony - 1 Practice/Week (Weekday - 1 Hour), 1 Game/Week (Saturday AM - 1 Hour) - All activities will be at Hempfield Fire Department (19 W. Main St, Salunga, PA 17538)

Minor - 2 Practice/Week (Weekday - 1.5 Hour/Per), 1 Game/Week (Saturday AM /PM - 1.5 Hour) - All activities will be at Centerville Middle School (865 Centerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601)

Major - 2 Practice/Week (Weekday - 1.5 Hour/Per), 1 Game/Week (Saturday AM/PM - 1.5 Hour) - All activities will be at Centerville Middle School (865 Centerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601

Equipment Expectations:

Pony - Glove, cleats, water bottle needed, bat/helmets provided

Minor - Glove, cleats, water bottle needed, bat/helmets provided

Major - Glove, cleats, water bottle needed, bat/helmets provided

Other Notes:

Special Requests (Pony/Minor) - Please limit to 1 special request for Ponies and Minors (Teammate/Coach, Night of the Week, Etc)

Special Requests (Majors) - There are no special requests for teammates, teams are completed via draft by coaches after evaluations. The concept is to evaluate players, and create equitable teams based on skill to enhance the competition levels. (Majors Player evaluation will occur on Sat March 14th at Spooky Nook).

Mandatory Fund-raising Obligations: PLEASE READ: New Fundraiser for 2026 – Cash Raffle

This year, HYA is replacing the annual lottery calendar fundraiser with a new cash raffle. Each player pays a $50 fundraising fee at the time of registration, which covers the cost of five raffle tickets. Families may sell these tickets to friends, relatives, neighbors, coworkers, etc. Any money collected through ticket sales is yours to retain.
Players will receive their raffle tickets in March/April after registration closes.
Raffle will take place on June 20, 2026.
Multiple Cash prizes available - with the grand prize up to $1,000!

HYA Baseball Winter Workouts (January 2026)

HYA Baseball Winter Workouts

Dates: January 2, 9, 16, and 30

Location: Spooky Nook Sports, 2913 Spooky Nook Rd, Manheim, PA 17545

Instructors: HYA coaches, Corey Paluga (CP Baseball Foundations), and members of the Hempfield High School Baseball Team. Workouts will include batting, fielding, baserunning, and other skill development activities.

Times:

10U – 5:30 to 7:00 PM
12U – 6:30 to 8:00 PM
14U – 7:30 to 9:00 PM

(Times may shift slightly as registration is finalized. You will receive an email with final times prior to the first session.)

Eligibility: Open to all travel players, plus any player with at least one year of experience at the Majors (kid-pitch) level.

Cost: $80 per player for all four sessions

Equipment Needed: Glove, Bat, Helmet, Shoes (no cleats)

Spring Travel Baseball - 2026

Tryout Dates:

Saturday, January 31, 2026
Saturday, February 7, 2026
All players should plan to attend both tryout dates.

Location: Spooky Nook Sports, 2913 Spooky Nook Rd, Manheim, PA 17545

Tentative Schedule (same for both tryouts):

10U Tryouts: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Registration begins at 2:30 PM)
12U Tryouts: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM (Registration begins at 5:00 PM)
14U Tryouts: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Registration begins at 7:00 PM)

Other Important Information:

All players eligible to play 10u travel baseball (birthdates from 5/1/2015 - 4/30/2018) who are interested in doing so are encouraged to register for the 10u tryouts. If your child is not placed on a travel baseball team, they will be automatically enrolled in our Intramural Majors program, and you will be refunded the difference in registration fees between travel and intramural baseball.

Attending tryouts does not guarantee a spot on a travel baseball team. We limit the number of players on each team, and the registration numbers do not always allow us to have a team for each player. We will do our best to offer alternatives and help find somewhere for your child to play and refund all registration fees in the unlikely event we are not able to find a place for them to play in our organization.

Lancaster County Youth Baseball League (Travel 10U, 12U, 14U)
Practices will start in early to mid-March after teams are selected from tryouts.
Games generally start around the 2nd full week in April
All league games are played in the Lancaster County.
Baseball is expected to be your son's primary sport during the season.
Your commitment to the team includes being available for late season playoffs, and possibly the New Era Tournament, which runs into mid-July.
Each travel level player will be provided with a uniform consisting of pants, practice jersey, game jersey, hat, belt (as needed) and socks (if wearing knickers) as part of their paid registration.
Players will be required to provide their own glove, cleats, and bat.

Mandatory Fund-raising Obligations: For $50, each player will receive five (5) raffle tickets that can be sold for $10 each to friends, relatives, colleagues or anyone that is interested. The money you receive from them is yours to keep since you have already paid HYA for the tickets. A drawing will be held on June 20th, 2026 and will be broadcast on Facebook (more details to follow).
