Boys High School Basketball is BACK! This Winter, during Jan and Feb 2023,  HYA 3-on-3 Basketball League for High Schoolers only.  Grades 9&10 and 11&12.  Four players per team, U-Pickem', and submit list to [email protected]  All who wish to play must be registered on this website.  Games will take place in an HSD Elementary School Gym near you. News, Notes, and Information:
Registration is held during September/October. Players must be a Hempfield School District resident. Intramural Season generally runs from late November through end of February. Team Jerseys are provided to each player. No activities for Grades 1 & 2 or beginners in Grades 3  & 4.  You may look to reach out to HARC or the "Y" for activities at these skill levels. Players are drafted onto teams by coaches in order to make it as balanced a program as possible. Evaluation nights are held. Requests for individual player's to play together or for certain coaches may be made; however, there are no guarantees as the primary selection of players is based on abilities and not requests. Team requests are not permitted. All Volunteers who will interact with the boys in this Program must provide HYA with a Background Check Clearance.  It's not Voluntary, so please handle this now or at Registration time.  To initiate the Clearance process, go to the website homepage and click the box for Background Clearances.
Intramural Levels:
Grade 4 U -  This includes advanced Grade 3 along with experienced Grade 4 players.  By evaluation, any 4th or 3rd grader exhibiting advanced skills and physical ability to play on a regulation court with regulation baskets will be recommended to play in this league.  We will not place a boy in a level they are not able to compete at.  Involves one weeknight practice and one game per week.  Grade 4U will use a 28.5" basketball and basket height of 10ft. Grade 6 U - This includes boys in Grades 5 & 6.  Boys should have prior experience playing basketball.  Involves one weeknight practice and one game per week.  Regulation size basketball will be used. Grade 8 U  - This includes boys in Grade 7 & 8.  Boys should have prior experience playing basketball.  Involves one weeknight practice and one game per week.  Regulation size basketball will be used.  All boys who plan to tryout for the middle schools team, and not make the cut, will have an opportunity to register to play HYA Intramural basketball this Winter.  When the MS teams are determined, please email me at [email protected] and together we'll make it happen. All Leagues will be limited to a maximum of 40 boys playing on teams due to GYM availability.

Boys Winter Hoops 3-on-3 2023 Basketball League

Boys' Summer Hoops 3-on-3 2023 Basketball League. 
Starting mid-July thru last week of Aug.  HSD residents only.  Play on Weeknights.  Location TBD.
Grades 3&4 / 5&6 / 7&8, must have prior formal basketball experience, and be physically capable of reaching a ten foot high basket with shot.  This is not an instructional experience.  There are no formal practice sessions.
Four boys per team, no coaches,  Supervision during games provided by the referees.
