Boy's Intramural

WE HAVE NOW ENTERED THE LATE REGISTRATION PERIOD. News, Notes, and Information:
Boy's Grades 5 thru 12 Intramural Leagues will no longer be conducted thru HYA. Spooky Nook Sports will take over administration of these leagues going forward. Registration is held during September/mid October. Players must be a Hempfield School District resident. Intramural Season generally runs from late November through February. Team T-Shirts are provided to each player. Activities for Grades 1 thru 4 will be held at a Hempfield School District Gym to be determined. Players are drafted onto teams by coaches or captains in order to make as balanced a program is possible. Evaluation nights are held for all leagues. Requests for individual player's to play together or for certain coaches can be made; however, there are no guarantees as the primary selection of players is based on abilities and not requests. Team requests are not permitted.
Intramural Levels:
Beginners 1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade -Introductory clinics teaching basketball fundamentals. Will use 27.5" basketballs; basket height is 8 ft. Practice and games will be on Thursday evenings at Farmdale ES Gym. Grade 4 U - Introductory program emphasizing basketball fundamentals. There are no playoffs or team standings in these divisions. Game scores will not be maintained electronically. There will be a Round Robin End-Of-Season Tournament. All 4th graders are eligible to play; by evaluation any 2nd or 3rd grader exhibiting advanced skills and physical ability to play on a regulation court with regulation baskets will be recommended to play in this league. We will not place a boy in a level they are not able to compete at. Involves one weeknight practice and one game. Again, the object is to learn and have fun. Grade 4 will use a 29.5" basketball and basket height of 10ft. Practice will be on Wednesday evenings and Games on Thursday evenings at East Pete ES.
