Fall Intramural (In-House) Baseball Program
The Fall Intramural program is a modified version of our Spring program with two options: Pony ball or Minors/Majors Combo. Boys between the ages of 5 thru 10 are eligible for these programs. For older boys and those interested in a more competitive experience, please sign up for our Travel baseball program.
Your child’s age as of April 30th of the next Spring season will determine their age program for the Fall season. Generally, there will be practices on weeknights with games played on Saturdays. Practice schedules will be decided by each coach once teams are organized. Our emphasis will be on developing baseball fundamentals and improving skill levels. Practices and games will be conducted on fields adjacent to Centerville Middle School. Any parents/guardians should make their interest in coaching known to us during the registration process. The success of our baseball progam is dependent on parent/guardian participation so please consider helping!
Registration will begin in July and run thru August 10, 2019. Season begins first week of September and runs through second week of October. Registration fee is $50, which includes hat, shirt and socks. Pants are not included but can be purchased for $10 at one of the first practices of the season.
Important Notice: Spots are limited for this program so registration can close early if capacity is reached.
Pony League
Intramural play against other Hempfield teams. This level is a combination of tee-ball or coach pitch, depending on the individual player skill level. Coaches are encouraged to pitch to their players if at all possible. Evaluations are not held for this age group. Games will consist of three (3) innings. Every player bats in each inning. The inning ends when all players for both teams have batted, regardless of the number of outs recorded. There will be at least one weeknight practice, and one Saturday game per week. Practice and games will be held at Centerville Field #3 or 4.
Combo Minors/Majors
Intramural play against other Hempfield teams, with a possibility to play against neighbor organization teams. There will be a combination of kid/coach pitch depending on skill levels. There will be no scorebook, no standings and no playoffs. Evaluations will not be held for this age group, but we will seek to maintain competitive balance amongst the teams. Each week, there will be at least one weeknight practice with games on Saturdays. Games will be 6 innings. Practice and games will be held at Centerville Fields #1 & #2.
