Registration: December 7, 2023 through February 18, 2024
Pony League (Tee Ball Age 5 to 7) - Birthdates from 5/1/17 to 4/30/19 - Intramural play is against other Hempfield teams, plus cross-over games against teams from St. Leo the Great. This level is a combination of tee-ball or coach pitch, depending upon the individual player’s skill level. Coaches are encouraged to pitch to their players if possible. Evaluations are not held for this age group. Games consist of three (3) innings. Every player bats in each inning. The inning ends when all players for both teams have batted, regardless of the number of outs recorded. Games are generally held on Saturday mornings. There will be one practice during the week scheduled by the head coach. Practice time is from 6pm to 7:30pm. The Pony ball field is located at the Hempfield Fire Hall.
Season begins early April and runs through the beginning of June.

Mandatory Fund-raising Obligations:
As in past years, we will again be offering two (2) options for fulfilling your mandatory fundraising obligation. Please note each player MUST fulfill his obligations, up to a maximum of 2 players per family. EX: A family with three (3) players need only fulfill fundraising obligations for two (2) players. Fundraising obligations may be satisfied by selecting one of the following options (per player):
- Sell at least five (5) lottery calendars per player. Each ticket is $10. Money is pooled together with winning numbers drawn throughout the month of May. NOTE: You can request additional lottery calendars for sale in groups of five (5). . PLEASE NOTE HYA WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS OF UNSOLD LOTTERY CALENDARS. This applies also to booklets of extra calendars, if requested by the player, OR
- Pay a $40 opt-out fee. Cash or checks are accepted. If paying by check, please make the check out to “HYA” or “Hempfield Youth Association”.

Pony players do not get evaluated,
but those who are selling the lottery calendars will need to pick up the calendars and a time and place TBA.
THIS WILL BE THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO PICK UP LOTTERY CALENDARS. If you do not pick up the lottery calendars you will have to pay the opt out fee of $40.
Registration fee includes shirt, hat and socks. Pants are not included, however you will have an opportunity to purchase pants at the beginning of the season.
NOTE: Space is limited so registration can close early depending on participation. Please don't wait until the last minute to register!The success of our baseball program is dependent on parent/guardian participation so please consider helping! We are always in need of Head Coaches, Assistant coaches, or just some willing hands for a few practices (every little bit will help!) There will be a coaches meeting in mid March to review our new practice protocol. We are more than willing to help any new coaches get started.
